St Chad's Church is Anglican and located in the town centre of Poulton-Le-Fylde - at the heart of the community. For over 900 years the church, surrounded by its lovely church yard and gardens has watched over the busy town centre and the Market Square.

Whether you are religious or not, the churchyard provides an oasis of peace even though it's situated amid the hustle and bustle of the town centre - once you go into the gardens a sense of calm seems to exist, which is welcome in this busy world.

The gardens are a beautiful centrepiece to a town that prides itself on its floral achievements. All through the year there are changing views - in springtime the church grounds are a carpet of snowdrops, crocuses and daffodils, then the trees come into leaf, followed by summer plants which carry on the show.

This Parish Church is in the Diocese of Blackburn and the Archdeaconry of Lancaster. The building is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a Grade II Listed Building and further details relating to this fine historical building can be found on this website or if preferred, you can get a copy of the official guide book which you will find on sale in the church.

The church is open during the day for quiet prayer and reflection but with services and other activities taking place as advertised. Whether for a service, a special event or just to view the interior you are so welcome.

On this website you will find details of the various groups that meet and people to contact if you need further details. Also there are links to our Mission Partners and to the two Church of England Primary Schools in the parish, St Hilda’s, Carleton (founded in 1680) and St Chad’s Poulton(founded 1838) both of which we support.

The benefice includes our daughter church of St Martin and St Hilda in Carleton, a shared church with our Roman Catholic friends and also St Anne’s at Singleton.

The style of worship is generally traditional but with a more informal all age worship service taking place on the 1st Sunday each month. St Chad's has been recognised as a Child Friendly Church having gained the award in 2008. Children of all ages are welcome at services and can join groups such as Little Gang and Junior Church. We also have a Reflections service on the last Sunday each month where the worship is again informal.

We do hope that you will find the information you require on this website but the best way to find out about us is to come along. We would love to meet you.
