Reflections Service Sunday 24th September 6 30pm
Following the summer break, we will revert to the pattern of special evening services on the last Sunday of each month. On Sunday 24th September at 6 30pm there will be a Reflections Service at St Chad’s with meditative prayers, music and readings. All are welcome to come and experience a different approach to worship and prayer.

The children of Poulton C E School will celebrate their Harvest on Friday 29th September at 9 15am when they will bring their dried and tinned goods to church. Their gifts and those of parishioners will go to support the homeless and disadvantaged in Fleetwood and Blackpool.

Stewardship Renewal
Later this month we will be contacting members of our Stewardship Scheme and all those associated with St Chad’s to record our thanks for your generosity and to invite a prayerful and careful reconsideration of our contribution to church life, both financially and in other ways.
There will be cards to return to church, not to set out a particular pledge, or commitment, but to record you undertaking to review your gift to the church prayerfully and carefully. Christ asks no more and no less of us than that and his church can only do the same.
We will hold a Stewardship Celebration Service at St Chad’s on 15th October at 10am and at St Hilda’s on Sunday 22nd October at 11am.

Harvest Thanksgiving Sunday 1st and 8th October
Harvest Thanksgiving at St Chad’s will be on Sunday 1st October and St Hilda’s and St Anne’s Singleton will hold their Harvest Thanksgiving the following Sunday 8th October.
At St Chad’s we will have 8am Holy Communion and 6 30pm Parish Communion but our principal celebration will be our 10am All Age Worship.

The Flower Guild will be preparing floral arrangements for the sick and housebound. If you are able to help with the distribution please come to St Chad’s on Monday 2nd October at 9am. Donations towards the cost of flowers will be gratefully received.

The Bishop’s Harvest Appeal 2017 is entitled “A Fairer Share.” The proceeds will go to a Christian Aid partner in Burundi, helping farmers to boost their yields and earn more to feed themselves and their families. The second group to benefit is Tree Aid which helps African families grow and use trees for nutritious food all year round, fighting hunger and malnutrition. You can find out more about both projects from the leaflets in church, which include a gift-aid form to maximise your contribution.

On Wednesday 11th October at 7.30 pm in Poulton Methodist Church there will be a Service of Celebration to mark the 25th Anniversary of Churches Together in Poulton and Carleton. The preacher will be Revd David Wiseman, one of the founders of the organisation. All are welcome.
