United Evening Communion at Poulton Methodist Church on Sunday15th April at 6 30pm
We will join our friends at Poulton Methodist Church for a United Evening Communion. As our two churches continue to explore the path to unity it is good at a local level to worship together and celebrate all that we hold in common. Please join us if you can.

There will be no evensong at St Chad’s that night.

Bible Studies will meet on Tuesday at 2.00pm at 89 Rutland Avenue the home of Dorothy Hankey. They will continue to meet weekly until May 21st with exception of May 7th and will consider the theme of ‘Discipleship - learning from the Apostles lives and their teaching.’

Revision of the Church Electoral Roll
Once a year the Church Electoral Roll is updated and additional applications are invited. The roll is in effect a membership list, which qualifies those on it to stand for office within the Church and to vote at the Annual Meeting. If you are not currently on the list you are encouraged to complete an application form, available at the back of church. Please return completed forms to a churchwarden or sidesman, or direct to the Electoral Roll Officer, Mrs Jenny Aston.

Annual Meetings 24th April
This year our annual meetings will take place on Tuesday 24th April in St Chad’s Church.

At 7 45pm the Vestry Meeting will elect churchwardens for the coming year. At 8pm the Annual Parochial Church Meeting will review the year past and elect PCC members for a three year term. This meeting allows people to raise any concerns they have about aspects of church life and I encourage you to come along and to consider carefully how you can best make your contribution to church life.

Confirmation Sunday 29th April 10am
In a change from recent years or Confirmation 2018 will be on Sunday 29th April as part of our 10am Parish Communion.
We welcome the Bishop of Blackburn, Bishop Julian, to conduct the Service and to confirm our candidates this year. As part of the Service they will also receive Holy Communion for the first time and at the end they will be presented with cards and gifts.
It will undoubtedly be an uplifting occasion and the move to a Sunday should allow the congregation to join our candidates and demonstrate our support for them as they take the next step on their Christian journey.

Memorial Service Sunday 29th April 6 30pm
On Sunday 29th April at 6 30pm we will hold a Memorial Service to which we invite relatives of all those who have died over the last twelve months.
Others are welcome to join them to remember loved ones and friends, through prayer, music, silence and the symbolic lighting of a candle.

“Home Front:Front Line” Monday 30th April 7 30pm
This play is a joint venture between the Diocese of Blackburn and the Methodist District and is an emotionally charged look at life in WW2, through the eyes of a young couple (Lizzie and Tom) serving their country at home and abroad. It celebrates love, commitment and faith in the face of separation, hardship and conflict. Written by Revd Dave Banbury, it follows on from the acclaimed “Brothers in Arms” and was first performed at last year’s Edinburgh Festival.

Please join us for a performance in St Chad’s on Monday 30th April at 7 30pm when we hope to be joined by our friends from Poulton Methodist Church and others from across the town. It is an ideal way to introduce a friend or neighbour to the joys and challenges of the Christian faith, so invite someone to join you. There is no charge for admission but there will be a retiring collection for a forces charity
