* Our grateful thanks to all those who supported our Annual Cake Bake Event. The amazing sum of 247.25 was raised and the proceeds have been shared between the Children's Society and the Bellringers’ Fund.

* The latest Children's Society Boxholders’ Newsletter is available on the table at the back of the church. If you are not a boxholder but are interested in the work of the Society please take a copy. If anyone would like a box please have a word with Loraine or Richard.

*The Chaddeans hold their AGM at Staining Village Hall on Monday, 7.00 pm.
* Items for the July Sentinel should be at the Vicarage by Tuesday of this week.
* On Wednesday we begin the first session of our new Study Course; ‘Being Witnesses’. Produced by the Diocese of Blackburn it is intended to help ordinary Christians be witnesses to an extraordinary God. Future sessions are on June 27th and July 11th, 18th and 25th.
There is a sign up sheet at the back of church and course materials can be collected. Sessions will begin with refreshments at 6.45pm for those who wish, followed by study beginning at 7.30 pm and finishing by 9.00 pm. .
* Next Sunday is our Annual Hog Roast at St.Hilda’s Carleton, beginning at 12.30 pm . The cost is £7.50 with primary children free. To reserve a place sign the list at the back of church.
* Next weekend there are two important occasions in the life of Poulton CE School. On Saturday from 11am to 3pm the School will hold their Summer Fayre in and around the school. This is a major fundraising event for the Friends of the School with all monies raised going back to school for new equipment. There will be a variety of stalls including cakes, face painting, donkey rides and live music. Parishioners would be most welcome for what promises to be a good day out in support of a worthy cause.
* On Monday 25th June at 7.00pm the School will be singing in Blackburn Cathedral as part of a Young Voices Concert featuring Hodgson Academy and Blackpool Sixth Form college. Tickets are £5 and can be purchased at church today from the Headteacher who will be at Parish Communion.
+ The new Bishop of Lancaster will be Installed in Blackburn Cathedral on Tuesday 3rd July at 7.30 pm. If you would like to attend please contact the Vicar.
* Mothers' Union have arranged a visit to Jacqueline Iddon's Garden at Bretherton, near Leyland, on Tuesday, 10th July and the cost is £22 for the coach and full Afternoon Tea; there are several aspects to the Garden, with a large stream fed pond and garden studio and conservatory, with indoor seating as insurance against the weather. We will leave from the Hall on Vicarage Road at 4.00 pm and depart from the gardens at about 7.15-7.30 pm. All are invited to join us, please contact June Challis 864534 or Dorothy Griffith 899602 for more information and to book a place.
* There are plans to visit our linked parish of Flothe in Germany to mark the Centenary of the WW1 armistice. The visit will be from October 31st to November 4th/5th. Flyers giving more details are at the back of church. Please express your interest to Ann McCarthy as soon as possible and preferably by next weekend so that flights can be booked.
